"Hashing" is a sociable way for people of all ages and levels of fitness to meet for some outdoor non-competitive exercise. Groups meet almost every day around the world for a gentle run. A trail is set, a few hours in advance, by the "hare", mostly on public footpaths, using blobs of plain flour or chalk every 20 or 30 metres, and sometimes a circle, cross, arrow or "T". The route is usually less than four miles, and every few hundred yards there are checkpoints or re-groups where slower runners can catch up and have a rest, and keener ones attempt to find the correct path. To try hashing, simply come along with some scruffy running gear (we run in all weather contidions) to a venue below. Don't be late - we always start on time!
