WASHers is back!

Hashing isn't only about being embarassing in public, wearing seriously unflattering jogging togs and drinking too much beer - some hashers drink too much wine, as well. The Wine Appreciation Society of Hashers - "WASHers" - was founded by Wet Wipe of the Bristol Hash House Harriers, the inaugural meeting being held on Thursday 26th May, 2005 at the Clifton Sausage. A lot of wine, (including two re-launches) has been passed since then.

The last WASHers, of which there is no known record, was at Sergio's in Frogmore Street, Bristol, on Friday, 20th July, 2007.

Welcome Autumn with a glass or six of vino, vin, vinho, Wein, gwin, plonk or wine among friends and sympathisers.

Date: Saturday, 30th September 2017. Time: evening.
Place: CJ's Coffee House and Deli, 14 Upper Maudlin Street, Bristol BS2 8DJ.

CJ's is being opened especially for the event! American Supper, so bring a plate of food, along with a bottle of wine to share and appreciate.

You MUST book - maximum of 20 places. Please let Wet Wipe, LUNCHi or HBK know if you are attending.

Hullabaloos, Whiteladies Road, Clifton, Bristol. 30/06/2005.

The WASHers meeting, held on the 30th June at Hullabaloos, Whiteladies Rd was attended by a very select group. Wet Wipe and Sleepy were belatedly joined by PeePee.

They ate a yummy meal, and drank 3 bottles of wine, a Shiraz called Linda McGurgan Tempus Two, a Rioja (can't remember which one), and a bottle of white wine (haven't got a clue!).

They later wandered over to the Highbury Vaults, where they spent an enjoyable time in the snug discussing the similarities between religion and Hashing with a group of Jehovah's Witnesses. Honestly.

A good time was had by all (as far as I remember).

PeePee went home in a taxi, and Sleepy and Wet Wipe caught the last bus (just!) and Sleepy kindly made sure Wet Wipe got off at the correct bus stop. Apparently he managed to get off at the right stop too.

As it has been suggested that Thursday isn't really a good choice of night for imbibing the grape, the next meeting will be on Friday 19th August at:
The Hudson Bar & Grill
14 London St
Bath BA1 5BU

Be there or be square! Please feel free to circulate this to Hashers who have yet to discover the delights of WoeHashers.
